Bentley will be launching its first plug-in hybrid car in the second half of 2018, according to a report published on Engadget on March 6, 2018.

They have been trying to launch this hybrid car called Bentayga SUV since three years. Recently, they announced that this car will be launched in the second half of 2018. This hybrid car has similar luxurious design like the regular model, however, the usual powerplant was replaced with a 3.0L V6 and an electric motor. Electric driving up to 31 miles is only provided by this electric motor. It is mainly to diminish the weak economy of fuel from the V6 that assembles 12MPG in the city and 19MPG in the highway.

This SUV model has few features that will not be seen in few other PHEV models. The charging station, which takes 2.5 hours to top up, was crafted by the famous designer Philippe Starck. Another feature is that when in hybrid mode, the best time to utilize the electric motor is calculated by the GPS positioning installed in Bentley. Therefore, when the user is about to reach the destination alone the electricity runs out.

In-cabin tech provided in this hybrid car is better than any other car. There is an 8-inch touchscreen along with a 10.2 inch Android tablet that is removable, which provides LTE and Wi-Fi data for those sitting at the back.

The pricing of this car has not been outlined by Bentley. It is clear that a narrow audience is being targeted by the automakers. Bentley’s hybrid car is ecofriendly and it is expected to increase the growth of automotive motors market, as elaborated in the automotive motors market report published by Coherent Market Insights.
